How to Make a Wedding Bathroom Basket: All the Amenities Your Guests Will Thank You For

You want your wedding day to be fun and memorable for your guests, so of course, you’re going to have good food and great music! Go a step above to make sure guests are comfortable all night by providing a bathroom amenities basket.

Here’s why you should provide a bathroom basket at your wedding and our list of essential items to include.

Bathroom amenities baskets (we use “basket” loosely, you can also put these items in a tray or plastic container) should be stocked with practical items that someone might need on a night out.

Guests are usually at your wedding for 6-8 hours, and unexpected issues can happen — things like a headache, spills, or wardrobe malfunctions aren’t uncommon. Beyond those “emergency” situations, guests will simply appreciate having the basics available (like hair ties, mints, and deodorant) to “freshen up.” And for outdoor weddings, providing bug spray and sunscreen will be a relief!

Essentials for your wedding bathroom baskets:

You don’t need to purchase full-size items for your bathroom kit; the mini and travel sizes will do.

  • Mints or gum.

  • Spray deodorant.

  • Dental floss picks.

  • Band-Aids.

  • Tissues.

  • Feminine care products.

  • Individually packaged Advil and Tylenol.

  • Tums!

  • Hand lotion.

  • A pack of lip balm (people generally understand that if they take one/open it, it’s theirs to keep).

  • Stain removers — Tide pens, Shout Wipes

  • Hair ties, bobby pins, and hairspray.

  • Nail files! Often forgotten, but so necessary.

  • Safety pins.

  • Lint roller.

  • Contact solution and/or redness relief eye drops.

  • Mini makeup wipes and oil blotting sheets.

  • Bug spray and sunscreen — a must for any outdoor events.

  • Heel covers — to help high heels from sinking into grass. Even if you let guests know there will be a walk to the ceremony site, they won’t always wear the right shoes for it…

  • Ear plugs! Music can get loud, and some guests have more sensitive hearing. These are an unexpected and very welcome item your guests will appreciate.

To ensure your guests have the best day, put together a bathroom amenities basket. It’s an easy and affordable way to ensure everyone has what they need to feel fresh and cared for during your celebration.

It’s a thoughtful touch to have things like this available for guests in a pinch, even though they likely won’t end up needing/using all of these items. You can save anything unused and leftover for your future travel needs and overnight houseguests, or put together a mini-emergency kit for your car or desk!
