A Glamourous Winter Wedding at the Renaissance Depot

Kelsey and Brian’s romantic winter wedding at The Depot, part of the iconic Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, was simply stunning. We loved their elegant and cozy vision!

Brovado Weddings

Kelsey and Brian always envisioned a glamorous, elegant wedding. The pair live in Chicago, where there are so many stunning venue options, but they were drawn to The Depot in Kelsey’s home state of Minnesota. They loved the venue’s unique, historic setting, the downtown Minneapolis location, and that the on-site hotel would make travel easy for guests.

Kelsey wanted everything to feel glamourous and a little holiday-inspired, without going all out Christmas. The vibe was more ~winter elegance. We worked with Linen Effects and Soderberg’s Floral to design her dream day, leaning into neutrals and gold accents for decor while the floral color palette was crisp white, burgundy, and maroon.

The ceremony was held in the Winter Garden. To cover the street-facing windows, Linen Effects installed elegant white draping as a backdrop. Pillar candles lined the aisle, and tall floral arrangements on gold pedestals framed the stage.

In the Great Hall, guest tables were set with Lillian Pearl table linens, which featured a delicate damask texture. For the dramatic head table, we used a stunning Brilliance Leaf Gold Overlay. With a wedding party of 16, plus everyone’s dates, they had a full table!

Fun fact: Linen Effects is one of our favorite rental companies, and they graciously give all HappiLily couples a discount. Contact us to learn more.

Favorite Reception Moments

As avid sports fans (and Brian is a Varsity baseball coach), the couple chose to have a unique guest signing item — custom baseball bats with their last name! For dessert, the couple hired Angel Food Bakery to set up a donut bar. And in true Chicago style, the couple hired Uncle Franky’s hot dog cart to serve Chicago-style hot dogs for the late-night snack!
